WHAT TO SEE & DO

WHAT TO SEE & DO

Boston uncommon. Anything but typical, Boston Common is America's oldest park. Located in the heart of downtown, the Common features memorials and monuments (ideal for the history buff) as well as plenty of year-round activities, events and tons of green space for the perfect picnic in any season.

Just brew it. Feeling thirsty? Grab a cold one (or two) at one of Boston's many famous breweries. Whether you're a lager lover or an IPA snob, there's no doubt beer drinkers of all tastes will enjoy a behind the scenes look at Sam Adams, Harpoon or Downeast Cider House. We'll cheers to that!

All about that base(ball). Do like the locals do and root, root, root for the home team at historic Fenway Park. Even if you're short on time, it's worth catching a few innings (and gobbling down a Fenway Frank) to embrace this beloved Boston tradition. Now that's what we call a 'grand slam'.

WHERE TO EAT

WHERE TO EAT

Don't be crabby. Located in Boston's Seaport District, The Barking Crab is an ideal place to cure your hanger. Boasting views of the harbor and communal dining, it's a casual seafood joint that's loved by townies and tourists alike. A must-visit if steamers dripping with butter and ice cold pitchers of beer sound like heaven to you -- and the clam 'chowdah' hits it out of the park every time.

Love you a 'brunch'. There's no better way to start off the morning than with comfort food and craft cocktails at Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant. Choose from a mouthwatering brunch menu that includes every type of eggs you could imagine, Fruity Pebble Pancakes, carnitas tacos, biscuits and gravy, and an array of woodfired pizzas to boot.

Bon appetit! An urban oasis smack in the middle of Back Bay, foodies from all over will love Terra. The top-floor attraction of Boston's Eataly emporium, Terra's wood-fired grill serves up seasonal dishes (like fresh seasonal vegetables and sustainable meat) with a side of Instagram-worthy aesthetic.

WHERE TO SIP

WHERE TO SIP

It's a shore thing. Enjoy the makings of a tropical vacation without ever leaving the city. Shore Leave is Boston's newest tiki bar. Keep your spirits high by ordering up the 'Bait & Switch' -- a drool-worthy mix of bourbon chocolate, roasted almond and bittersweet chinato. A little rum never hurt no one.

Ready, set, drink! If you consider yourself a cocktail connoisseur, Drink will be right up your alley. This menu-free bar, housed in an old wool factory, concocts tailor-made drinks among a unique-yet-cool atmosphere. Simply give the bartender a little direction and there you have it -- a specialty beverage, inspired by you.

(Speak)easy does it. Ever wanted to travel back in time? Yvonne's is a super hip speakeasy that is guaranteed to transport you back to the era of Prohibition -- without all the risky business. Hidden behind a faux hair salon, Yvonne's mixology menu offers fun-spirited choices like the 'Painkiller', made with dark rum, coconut, pineapple, and orange juice.

WHERE TO SHOP

WHERE TO SHOP

So 'bury good. Known as Boston's most enchanting street, Newbury Street is is home to eight blocks of upscale boutiques, salons and plenty of fabulous dining options. You won't want to miss tried-and-true faves like Nike, Lush and Zara, or famous Boston icons Johnny Cupcakes and Newbury Comics.

To market, to market. Situated near Government Center, Faneuil Hall Marketplace is a bustling shopping destination lined with boutique stores, artisan pushcarts, street performers, musicians and so much more. Great for one-of-a-kind gifts or a little trinket to remember your Boston getaway.

Shop 'til you drop. If you like your shopping with a side of historic charm, Boston's North End (AKA Little Italy) has got you covered. Besides the famous sights and delicious food (ahem, Mike's Pastry), exploring this neighborhood will open your eyes, and wallet, to a range of unique gifts, apparel, books, artwork, and fine home furnishings that you never even knew existed.
